Claim is presented 16 towering dizzying spinning propeller scrapers will generate "100 mega watts capacity" across a 250-acre patchwork in the eastern portions of the towns of Catharine and Hector in Schuyler County. Company representatives say they want to build 100 megawatts of energy capacity, enough to power 24,000 homes for a whole year.* *if it generated full capacity and it was USABLE energy and most of the energy generated is not usable. 100 megawatts is 100,000,000 watts. Divide by 365 days in a year divide 16 turbines = 17,000 watts per day capacity. Glass 1/2 full that's 8,500 watts per day. If it reaches 1/4 capacity that is 4,250 watts per day. Measured output of possibly usable energy averages about 7% capacity = 1,100 watts per day. It's hard to find how much dirty unusable energy that output includes per day. Good guess is about 10% of that = 110 watts per day. Since a day is 24 hours that barely powers night lights for the community at 110 divided by 24 = 5 watts. Capacity does not power anything it is merely a unit of measure. It is deceitful statement as the reader thinks generating capacity is generating power. IT IS NOT but is how the liars in this business hustle the public. Capacity of a glass for water does not equal providing a full glass of clean drinkable water. Capacity is just a container. Energy made by "wind farms" is like a glass of water partially full of water that is muddy and dirty from the chemical plant nearby that dumps toxic waste in the river. Often all the energy made by "wind farms" has to be discarded. They count this as energy made, but it is NOT USABLE ENERGY. The photo shows an old wind mill of 1888. These were hooked up to generators to produce electricity. They did not catch on like other forms of energy and other machinery as they are not reliable for generating constant electricity flows. They are best suited for grinding grain as seen here at HorsePower.net They have had 136+ years to evolve into efficient systems and still they are only efficient at transferring your energy to portfolios. They will never be self supporting the principles of physics will not allow it in any form other than in the form where they grind grain and thus only depend on human elbow grease to build them, that not using any power saws, only hand saws, and building them to rely on wind to occasionally grinding grain instead of doing it by hand, all other electric uses based on wind and other renewables in any sort of industrial application are totally dependent on not only fossil fuels but many natural minerals, strip mines, water sources, and the rampant use of fossil fuels burned by places like China which make so many of all the industrial made parts like the very turbines and steel and wires coated with plastic, need I go on? It is impossible UTTERLY IMPOSSIBLE to build wind turbine plantations without those energy sources. Wind turbine manufacturing requires 200 times more raw materials per megawatt of power than modern combined-cycle gas turbines! |
